Wednesday May 30, 2007 New York 82F Sunny Clear. Montreal 19C Cloudy Showers.
We were up early to ensure that we get to the airport in plenty of time, clean socks for the security inspection, etc. Our shuttle driver was supposed to pick us up at 8, but was 20 mins late. From then on it was pickups all over the place, eventually on our way to the airports 90 mins later. One young lady for Japan, who was half asleep, had 1 very big suitcase and 4 other bags with her that filled up the back of the bus.
I do hope that the 2 ladies of Afro American origins in the back of the bus managed to get their flight, they provided a lot of entertainment on the trip out to the airports.
Flight to Montreal was quick only 60 mins, it took longer to get out of Manhattan, than to fly to Canada. As we had left in plenty of time, my owner enjoyed the passing sights as we went through Harlem and along the Projects area. We even saw the Riverside Hospital for Mental Illness that they so often talk about in all those NY crime and police shows.
JFK is a very big airport but surprisingly was very quiet and not a lot of activity this morning, well not so busy at the American Eagle terminal, so a latte was had.
When we arrived in Montreal, the weather was cooler, 17C and showers.
Our accomodation here is a studio suite, which has a little kitchen, microwave, fridge, stove, etc. so we went to the local market and got some bread, butter, milk and pineapple juice. My owner must have been having a little homesickness as he made himself a Vegemite Sandwich to have with a glass of milk.
I was a special gift to my owner, on Valentines Day 1996 from someone very special. We are embarking on a bit of travel, so you will be able to follow our adventures and tales, as I keep this sort of diary for my owner. You could say this is my version of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. Something to keep you amused while we are on our journey. Please add comments, we like to hear back from you.
